14th April 2009 Skiing: Murren Wind Direction: Wind Stength: light Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Early breakfast and up on the Allmendhubel mountain railway by 9.30 !!! We had a fantastic day just using the Maulerhuel and Winteregg lifts which was only 4/5 pisted runs.The tree lined runs being alot prettier than yesterdays high altitude runs.The snow lasted well considering the sun was out all day and it must have reached 20 degrees and we were skiing in t-shirts !!! I did have one major wipeout in the morning,losing both skis and my water bottle and grazing my arms sliding down the ice on my back !!! We had chips and mega cake with our rolls at the Winteregg Station resturant with the Eiger a magificent backdrop.Dan made 69 mph today only a fraction slower than yesterday.Rob and Dan skied all afternoon together which included alot of off-piste.This place must be paraglider heaven as I have never seen so many and going so,ooooo high !We caught the train back to Murren from Winteregg to save a bit of the walk !!! |
